When they can reduce their supply costs and overhead it means that more money can be listed in the profit column. All of a sudden, those words on the ingredients list like “by products” and “fillers” take on a new and horrible meaning. I have read a report that clearly shows at least half a dozen deadly chemicals that many producers use in their dog food recipes. These chemicals have been banned for any humans to use or ingest because they are known to be carcinogens. Even buying products labeled as natural dog food is no guarantee that it is does not contain some of these “Extra Secret Ingredients”. Most companies would be in serious trouble if they tried to pull these same tricks when making food for humans but there are few safety checks for animal products.
